Stringing Magazine: Fall 2007
Merlot
Fall has arrived at Stringing Magazine! I haven't had time to design for Stringing in quite some time with my other writing assignments keeping me occupied. This issue pays tribute to the coming Fall season and has a special section featuring leaves the editors loved. In it you will find three shades of the Serenity leaves (page 12) and the electroformed leaves (page 13) that were selected to be part of this feature. Yah! Andrew Thornton's Child of Morning (page 27) lariat wonderfully utilizes two rose gold leaves and the design also graces part of the cover art! Then Linda Naoi Goetz's Autumn Twilight (page 79) teases five rose gold leaves with floral trumpet flower dangles in copper mesh ribbon. Two winning designs that give you further ideas on how to incorporate the leaves into beautiful jewelry combinations.
And, my own necklace is Merlot (page 42) featuring my Serenity leaves and custom blended borosilicate beads. This is a design that I created for the Softflex Company's feature of me as Designer of the Month March 2006 and which I now share in this issue. The color used is SLV014 but you can select from the many colors available in our catalog. Or try this necklace idea with my new Ginkgo leaves with equally beautiful results. And in lieu of borosilicate beads, you can also use any bead that compliments the Serenity leaf colors of your choosing.
